A GENTLE MOVES class offers participants the proven benefits of dance for anyone with a mobility challenge; those living with chronic pain, stroke recovery, Parkinson's Disease (PD), general frailty or early stage dementia. Gentle Moves is a celebration of movement through dance & music! No previous dance experience required.
GENTLE MOVES explores your imagination, renews strength, energy, confidence and builds a community - all to enrich your life. Studies indicate that dance improves balance, muscle mass, flexibility, bone density, helps with stiffness and rigidity and builds brain neuro-plasticity.
Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace. Whether standing, sitting or moving, all dances are modified to meet your individual abilities and range of motion. Seated, standing or moving across the floor, participants explore elements of modern dance, ballet, yoga, rhythm & blues and social dancing. The class is inclusive, welcoming, fun, and friendly. Open to men and women of all ages. Caregivers attend at no additional cost. You'll love the moves, the music and the community!!
